TESTIMONIALS

"Thank you very much for showing us your wonderful establishment.  We were very impressed and have to congratulate you on creating such a homely atmosphere which exceeded all our expectations".  Richmond Kessie - Accommodation Development Officer, Haringey  6th August 08

"Congratulations to Queen Ann Care on their expansion, it is so reassuring to see that although they have expanded, the care for their clients has not changed! My brother has improved many times over. His confidence has improved and whenever I speak to him I now get a reply of full sentences.

Well done Queen Ann Care, I wish you all the best for the future".
M. Bansfield-Young

Investors in people

Queen Ann Care through investors in people (IIP) also demonstrates a commitment with its staff towards developing potential through internal and external qualifications.

The staff have to develop a portfolio of evidence (all training courses attended) to show we develop them through training.

We liaise with the local colleges and training centre’s for the staff, this is in regards to NVQ 2/3. The commitment to training is from the top down and is a continuous training package as training needs and legislation boundaries are forever advancing.

There is also a very strong commitment from the staff towards this training for the benefit of the clients.

Residents Meetings

Weekly - Arts & Cookery.

Monthly - Key Workers Reviews

Queen Ann Care, whilst understanding that some clients and health workers need to smoke, operates where possible a no smoking policy. All meetings/reviews are held on a non-smoking basis.

Levels of care

Queen Ann Care offers support to clients with mental health needs within the residential home as well as supported housing with opportunities for the client, as needs dictate, moving from one to the other.

Commitment to the Environment

Queen Ann Care have been caring for individuals with Severe and Enduring Mental Health needs that require both residential care and supported housing for the last 28 years and has been recognized for investing in and caring for its staff for the last 9 years... now for the past year they have directed their efforts into the one area left to care for... the environment! This has active involvement from the clients, staff and relatives.

Even though we are within the care industry we still appreciate that we are a commercial interest with a great deal of environmental responsibility towards our neighbours, surrounding boroughs and ultimately as a collective... The world we live in!!

Queen Ann Care is now taking the following measures to uphold this aforementioned responsibility... please note these steps are not exhaustive!

  • Composting
  • Wormeries
  • Recycling Bins
  • Green Joanna
  • Water Butts
  • Green House
  • Certificate In Recycling for Sustainability in Association with Middlesex University
  • Use of Environmentally Friendly Products

In addition to these procedures in place Queen Ann Care has also been working with the following Agencies

  • Enfield Civic Centre  - training and monitoring our composting and recycling
  • Smartworks - Helping us to produce an environmental policy
  • The Carbon Trust - Helping us cut our energy usage to combat climate change
